In 1951, Andrew and George Ansara, two brothers from Aita El Foukhar, a small village in the mountains of Lebanon, came to Detroit, Michigan. They had hopes of beginning a new life and living the American dream of owning their own business.

With the idea of starting small and working their way up, the Ansara Brothers received an unexpected loan delivered from their milkman who had faith in their dream. In 1955, they began their first venture by purchasing Coyle Market, a small grocery business in West Detroit. A few years later, the brothers purchased Gee's Drive-In Restaurant in Allen Park, Michigan. Andrew and George's dream of being successful businessmen became a reality, and, in 1961, they opened their first Big Boy restaurant in Garden City, Michigan.

More than 50 years later, the Ansara Restaurant Group has become a nationally known and respected restaurant and real estate company operating Red Robin and 2Booli restaurants throughout Michigan and Northwest Ohio. Affiliated restaurants include: *Portofino, www.PortofinoOnTheRiver.com in Wyandotte, Michigan, and *Burgrz, www.Burgrz.com in Rochester Hills & Royal Oak, Michigan.

Today, Andrew's son, Victor Ansara, continues to build upon the vision of his Father and Uncle, and serves as President and CEO of the Ansara Restaurant Group. George's son Lew Ansara, along with Victor's brothers, Norman and Andrew Jr., oversee the company's various businesses with the support of the Ansara Restaurant Group Executive Team.

A family tradition since 1961, the Ansara Restaurant Group continues to follow the high values and quality standards established by Andrew and George Ansara more than 50 years ago.
